He first loved us!

"We love because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19

We can love because God first loves us, making us feel safe. He is faithful and we are all first on His list. We have an assurance of His love because He loves us before we even glanced His way. He even went as far as to record it in a book for all to see, not just scrawling it on some piece of scrap paper that eventually is thrown away. He declares His love to be everlasting and He backs it with the promise of covenant. " I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness" Jer. 31:3

He says "I have loved" as though to say, I decided a long time ago to love you and it is never going to change. Therefore I have reached out and done everything within my power to draw you to me. To capture your attention, I've spared no loving-kindness so you would know it is settled with me.
