A Limitless God
We may see God as a Big God, but how easily do we see Him as a “Limitless God”?
With that thought in mind, I was considering what limitless looks like. If we had a limitless supply of money, we could buy what we wanted, when we wanted. If we had a limited supply of money, we would be forced to budget what we have. It would be the same with other things such as water. If we had a limitless supply we would drink whenever we were thirsty. If the water was in limited supply, we would ration out what we have to enable it to last as long as possible.
The truth is that the more limited the supply, the more likely we are to be focussed and intentional with our actions. So here’s a thought; what if our actions were governed by vision and intention rather than limitations? How different things may look then.
At our recent conference, Jude Fouquier said that God asked him if he believed He (God) was a Big God. His response was an expected “Yes”, but then God asked him, “Then why is your belief so small, your faith so little and your life so natural”. What would your answer be?
Eph 3:20 says that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. The word ‘able’ in Greek is the root word we get ‘Power’ from. God is able because He is all powerful. The Holy Spirit is the Power in us (see Acts 1:8), and the above verse shows us that He is not just sitting back doing nothing - He is working. So let’s work with Him and ‘Intentionally’ pursue limitless.
Let’s not live our lives governed by our own limitations. God declares that He can do exceedingly abundantly more that we could hope or dream of. If we believe God is that big, then let’s begin to live as a people that “Think Big, Believe Big, and Live Big.”
